I’m a husband to Kate, permanently outnumbered at home as a dad to four kids our two dogs. I live in Middleton, love to surf, go hiking, camping and hanging with my family and friends.
I’ve been photographing weddings for the past 12 years — everywhere from Hawaii to wedding locations close enough that I’ve ridden my bike. I love all weddings, they are all unique. I will travel wherever or whenever I can to capture a couples wedding day. Country, city, beach, backyard, winery, hot, cold, raining, small or big weddings you name it. I’ll be there.
I genuinely love what I do. Being invited into one of the happiest days of someone’s life is something I never take for granted. I work in a documentary, editorial style — focused on real moments, honest emotion, and telling the story of the day as it naturally unfolds.
I often work alongside my step-brother Sam from Lightwise videography, who I’ve teamed up with for years. We know how to read a room, stay out of the way when it matters, and step in when it counts — making sure nothing important is missed while keeping the experience relaxed and easy for the couples we work with. You both have some big decisions to make in organising your special day and non more-so than to entrust in someone to capture those special moments, the fleeting ones and those that often go un-noticed.
That is what excites me and what I love about my job - my aim is to exceed your expectation and deliver a journalistic record of your day, captured in truth and with creativity.
My ethos has always been that photography follows your day. I have no agenda you need to meet, no ‘go to’ pose that I will make you do, I let the moments unfold in front of my camera and capture what I see.
I want this record to truly reflect who you both are, the people who surround your lives and the moments that will only appreciate with time.
Being given the privilege of documenting the most incredible moments between two people who are surrounded by those who love them most is a great honour. After photographing over 200+ weddings I know that every one of them is unique but the common thread that surrounds these great moments is absolute love. I never cease to be humbled by it and there isn’t a story I haven’t enjoyed hearing to learn more about you and what you mean to the people in your lives. I feel this is a part of what I receive in giving my all to your day.
I approach every wedding with wonder -filled curiosity, an attention to detail and an openness to capture the day unfolding the way it should. I strive to produce a set of images to convey the spirit and joy of your day that evokes the feelings of the very moment it was taken.
I studied photography at the South Australian School of Art and graduated with an Honours degree in 2008. My studies have since developed my style and approach to what I love to do.
